Dear Reader,
2023 was a uniquely tough year, but I would be lying if I failed to count the wins and lessons it taught me.
In this same year, I have spoken on global platforms, received a presidential appointment, won several awards and even had my face on the mighty NASDAQ Towers in New York.
Corporately, HerVest made history as the first African Startup with a film feature on Google’s WeArePlay Campaign.
We hosted an inspiring edition of HerVest Value Up with over 4k guests in attendance.
We also got into the highly competitive Praxis Accelerator Program…
I could go on, but this Ojuelegba story didn’t happen without tears, rejections and, importantly, consistency.
As we round up 2023, I would like to share some advice that helped me ace my goals and I believe these would help you even more in 2024.
Write the vision down: I am sure you’ve casually made a mental note of how you want 2024 to pan out. Maybe it’s starting or scaling that business, buying a piece of property, investing, fixing your finances, graduating, starting school, a family or a new job. Whatever it is, write it down. Then, write three action plans that could help you achieve this goal.

Rejection is redirection: Brace up! The journey to achieving our dreams is often filled with painful rejections. Rather than feel dejected, see rejection as redirection. What did I do wrong? What can I do better? And don't quit. In consistency lies the result. One day, it will pay off.
Leverage opportunities: Leveraging opportunities are the seeds you sow for a potential harvest. Nothing ventured. Nothing gained.
2023 was a successful year because I seized opportunities. Whether it was a relevant event that provided a space to network or business opportunities to grow HerVest, I went the extra mile. Don’t sleep on this.
Sow into your financial future: Whatever we sow, we reap. Saving for rainy days will never go out of fashion because money is important, and rainy days will come. How prepared are you?
Don’t get to the end of the year with no financial resources to show for it. If this was your story in 2023, it’s never too late to retrace your steps.
